But you should realize that there is a vast difference between using a blog to market a single product, and turning a blog into a full fledged business model.

Depending on your prior experience, you may find that this is quite easy to do – however, the majority of online marketers (especially beginners) would not.

Anyway, the trick to turning your blog into an actual online business is to look at it from multiple angles and ensure that each and every aspect of your blog is properly sorted out to perfection.

If you wish to do that, these are the areas that you should be glancing over:

1. Traffic

More traffic means more potential customers, which means more possible sales.

As such, traffic is without a doubt the first thing that you need to be concerned about – it’s what will sustain your business.

Fortunately, blogs are great traffic magnets, so as long as you’re posting regular (and valuable!) content as well as pursuing other traffic generation means, you should have few problems.

2. Niche Research

Almost all the blogs run by beginners end up being ‘niche interest’ sites. To take this a step further, you need to firmly distance yourself from that image and start to become a ‘niche authority’.

For this to happen, you’ll really have to know your niche inside out – and that means research.

Course, there are many ways in which you could carry out this research, and honestly the best way is to simply talk to people in your niche.

By figuring out the problems, needs, and desires of the people within your niche, you’ll then be able to cater your blog specifically to them, and that will slowly but surely transform your blog into an authority on the matter.

Other things, such as having your own product line, also help – but that’s a different story altogether!

3. Product Lines

Marketers market products. Businesses create and then market products.

Having your own product lines is not just profitable, but it will also boost your image and authority (as we mentioned just a minute ago!). Multiple product lines will allow you a lot of other options too, such as leveraging, which will undoubtedly help.

4. Business Plan

End of the day, the final discerning characteristic of a business is that you need to have a business plan. Everything that we’ve talked about so far must be planned out and linked together – along with other things too.

Basically, you need to know where you’re going to get your potential customers (i.e. traffic), what you’re going to market to them, how you’re going to market to them, and how you’re going to continue marketing to them (possibly list building!).

Take into account all of this, and you should be able to profit from your blog as a full fledged business model, and maybe even earn thousands and thousands of dollars a month like the true professionals do!

If you’re tired of barely scrapping by and are ready to finally make some money online with blogging, you need to check out Bloggers Payback:

For example of how the crawling process works in practice, it helps to work with a sample text. Let’s consider this paragraph:

If you have a winning way with words, you may be interested in learning more about direct mail copywriting. The field offers powerful writers the opportunity to be free of geographical constraints, to earn passive income, and to pay their bills without having to work a boring nine-to-five job.

In short, direct mail copywriting is a very tempting career option for many writers.

Now, while it is true that you can make a very good living with direct mail copywriting, not every one who enters the field is going to be able to do it full time.

Clients do not come crawling out of the woodwork and run straight for your door.

The successful copywriter has to attract new clients, maintain existing relationships, and consistently deliver copy that converts.

What are some of the words used in this paragraph more than once?

Maybe you chose copywriting, writers, and direct mail.

The web bots would do the same thing on a larger scale. Thus, if you were looking for information about dog food, and typed “dog food store” into Google, this article would not appear in the search results, because the bots would not consider it relevant.

The phrase ‘dog food store’ does not appear once in the sample text, so the bots would skip over this article when pulling up choices for the search results.

On the other hand, if you were looking for writers for an ad campaign and typed “direct mail copywriter” this article might appear on the first page of your search results.

It used your search words, also known as your “keywords” multiple times, prompting the bots to match you with an article where your desired words appeared more than once.

Now that you understand the basics of finding content for your blog, it is time to focus on getting readers for your blog.

Remember, just because a blog is created doesn’t mean anyone reads it. You need to be sure that people are finding your blog whenever they search for content in your niche.

This can be done by optimizing your blog for the web and attaching keywords to your blog posts.

Now, the whole concept of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) gets a lot of press, but few people really understand how it works.

This is because it seems to be pretty complicated. Or at least the way it is described makes it seem pretty complicated. However, all a regular blogger needs to know is how to get noticed.

You can learn how to get noticed by increasing your understanding of how SEO works.

to be continued:

If you have other friends out in the blogosphere, or offline friend who know a lot about your niche, you can also get time efficiencies by having them create posts for you.

Guest columnists and guest bloggers are fun for both you and your readers. It can add variety of perspective, help build the community, and save you valuable time while still providing high quality unique content to your blog.

The key is to Determine what you want out of your blog, do you want to make money, promote your website or business, or just fun.

Then set a schedule and budget for the amount of time or money you have to devote to the blog. Do you have five hours a week and no more? Do you have six hours this week, three next week, and 40 the week after that?

Try to determine what percentage of your free time you are willing to give over to your blog business and stick to that number.

Also, determining how much time you have to give to your blog can impact your content blend. Naturally, full-time bloggers have more time to carefully research and thoughtfully create unique posts each and every day.

Some even do postings several times a day. As a part time blogger, you can’t reasonably expect to do that.

Happy Canada day to my fellow Canadians

Continued from last Post:

You need to carefully blend the articles you pull in from Article Directories or other blogs with your own unique posts. This is the optimal solution to blog content—enough unique posts that readers know you and your personality, and enough outside content to add perspective and variety to your niche.

Mixing will also allow you to periodically take breaks from writing—you can spend one afternoon finding 10 – 15 articles from another blog or article directory that you would like to include in your blog over the next month.

Write up some reactions to the articles in advance, and you can then have the content ready to go when you need it.

This can give you time off from the burden of constantly producing for the blog.

And speaking of time off,

If need some time off and you have your articles prepared in advance why not install a submission software like AutoBlogFeeder it’ll submit your articles automatically for a month, or even a year.

Happy blogging
